(inspired by “Who Is She”)
My feet stopped and my head looked up at the gray sky, the clouds slowly forming around the sun’s vision. Ahh.. It’s getting cold, I need to hurry and get to school, why did I choose to walk? My body began to move forward again and shortly after, I hit something. My pupils slightly enlarged seeing the beauty in front of me “My bad” I excused myself. The girl across from me smiled “You’re fine” she said, I could tell she was amused. My mouth turned into a smile for her, it having a mind of its own, it went partially ear to ear, showing my gums. I quickly covered my mouth, now lightly laughing “Sorry” my voice rang in my throat. My voice box began to break up as I tried to form a conversation, I couldn’t get out a single word.
“Walk with me?” The girl smiled at me, taking my hand and firmly grasping it. Not knowing where we were going, forgetting where I was headed, my lips answered yes. Her legs then picked up and shifted as she sprinted forward laughing, making my ears light up. I slowly leaned into her mood, both of us laughing like teenage girls having the time of our lives. Her pace slowed as we came down a ramp, turning into a tunnel up a bridge. The area was dark and cold, just as we entered, I heard the rain starting. My attention quickly switched to the only bit of warmth in my body leaving my hand, she let go. Why did she leave, I can’t see her, it’s so dark. My eyes fluttered, getting harder and harder to reopen them each time… finally, I-
What felt like forever, my heavy eyelids opened, feeling as light as soaking wet towels. My eyes scanned the room for any sign of recognition, only to find the girl asleep in the corner. I didn’t get a good look at her face, why are we here, how are we here, who..is..she? “Hey,” My voice said quietly, cracking in the process. “Hey,” I said a little louder, trying to wake the girl. She then stretched and yawned, I watched her as she slowly blinked her eyes. “Oh god, you’re alive, where are we?” I yelled at the girl.
She shushed me, confused, I looked at her stunned as she crawled up to me “Quiet down now”. Wait, why was I the only one tied up, why could she roam around freely? She stood up and leaned over before me “Good morning,… Louis”. She smiled as my heart quickened and I turned pale. She ran her hand through my hair as my breath picked up its pace, I now realized the situation I was in. She lifted a loc of my hair and kissed it “Sleep well?”. Why ask that question with such a look on her face, like.. Like, she knows me?
