Homewood-Flossmoor High School College Essay Contest 2023
- Rules
- The essay must be an original work by the student.
- Open only to seniors graduating in 2023 (and early junior graduates)
- Cash prize in the form of a gift card will be awarded directly to the winner.
- Only 1 submission per student.
- Deadline on January 23rd @ midnight. Winner will be notified in the 2nd semester.
- Entry must be uploaded to Google Classroom AND turnitin.com.
- Essay formatting & guidelines:

- Between 400-650 words
- 12-point font, double-spaced, Times New Roman
- Your Original Title
- No graphic content of a violent or sexual nature; no profanity.
- No identifying student information on any part of the body of the essay (your name should only appear in File Name–see #3 under UPLOADING YOUR ESSAY).
- Uploading Your Essay to Google Classroom:

If your essay fails any of the rules or guidelines,
your entry will be immediately disqualified. No exceptions!
All entries will be judged blindly by the HFHS Faculty.
Winning essay will be published on www.hfedda.org and Edda Art & Literary Magazine.
